2026 BOCCE FORMAT:
🏆 League Mission
-
Eagle Ridge is a special place where neighbors become friends and the community comes together. At its core, our bocce league is about being social, meeting new people, and having fun. This season we’re doubling down on that spirit by keeping the official league focused on community and sportsmanship.
-
What that means:
-
The league will remain purely social and community-focused
-
The end-of-season tournament will no longer be part of official league play. Instead, a separate optional tournament may be hosted later for those interested in competitive play
-
Zero tolerance for unsportsmanlike conduct
-
📅 Season Format Updates
Based on last year’s feedback, we’re making a few updates to improve the experience:
-
55 minute games are back!
-
Three league nights: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday
-
Game times: ~5–8 PM time slots
-
Game times/ final schedules will dependent on how many teams are in each league
-
-
Game Hosts will help set up courts and keep time (no more court officials)
-
Court maintenance will be handled by a third party supported by the HOA
-
End-of-season Bocce Awards & Raffle Party!
-
Each league will vote on fun award categories like Best Spirit, Best Food, Top Teams and yes — the League Champions will still earn the coveted Title of Champion & Eagle Ridge Bocce Champion T-Shirt.
-
Additional Updates:
-
Weekly Hosts (instead of Court Officials)
Rather than formal court officials, each week will have a League Host helping keep things running smoothly. Teams and Capos will self-referee, keeping the league’s social spirit front and center.
-
Professional Court Maintenance
Great news — the bocce courts will now be professionally maintained each week, thanks to HOA funding. This ensures the courts stay in great condition all season long.
-
New & Revamped Bocce Committee
The league will be run by a refreshed Eagle Ridge Bocce Committee, a group of community volunteers helping coordinate scheduling, communication, and fun throughout the season: Denise Giffin, Ed Recotta, Jenny Mitchell, John Schlick, Pam Marshall and Michelle Mastrocola.
